Meet the Team

Preludium means a foreshadowing to something wonderful. At Preludium, our goal is to introduce music to learners from all walks of life so they can experience the beautiful journey of music.

Amanda Ottoni, Owner & Instructor

Amanda grew up playing piano and achieved first class certifications in her Royal Conservatory Exams. She participated in school choirs and toured internationally as a stage performer in children’s music theatre productions, including as Iago in Aladdin and the lead role in Annie.

Amanda attended Western University’s music program, where she longed to find deeper meaning in the power of music. She decided to volunteer abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand and brought her ukulele with her. While working with communities in need, she found that music could be used as a therapeutic method. After graduating, she worked as a music teacher full time, and decided that she wanted to start a business of her own.

Amanda attended Mohawk College’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship program, where she won the Pitch it to Win it competition with her music school concept, Preludium. She has received mentorship and support from the City of Hamilton’s Starter Company Plus program. Since 2017, Amanda has been providing exceptional music education to the Greater Hamilton area, and cannot wait to see what is in store for Preludium in the years to come.

Sarah Ozanic, Piano Instructor (Training)

Sarah is a student and Piano Instructor at Preludium. With passions in piano, voice, and music theory, she is a classically trained, motivated musician. Sarah is currently training and learning under Preludium owner, Amanda Ottoni, to complete her advanced Royal Conservatory levels. She joined the Preludium team as an instructor in 2023 and is flourishing in teaching beginner pianists in both popular and Royal Conservatory streams of piano.

Preludium is excited to offer teaching opportunities to exceptional young musicians like Sarah. We look forward to seeing Sarah’s continued growth as a musician individually and as an instructor.
